Objective:
To create a newsletter.
Process:
In groups of three decide what kind of newsletter you will be creating.
Steps:
1) Decide who is in your group
2) Discuss what kind of newsletter you are going to create
3) Discuss who is going to do what type of article
4) Email your articles to one place
5) Put your newsletter together using Publisher
6) Make sure your newsletter has a title
The breakdown:
1) decide who is in your group: this should be people you know that you can work well with. Each person will have to do their part. Choose the editor. (The editor will be the one who you email all of the articles to when they are completed to be uploaded into publisher)
2) Discuss what kind of newsletter you are going to create:
a. Hca school newsletter
b. World newsletter
c. All sports
d. Health and fitness
e. Health Nutrition
f. Or- an item from each of the topics above
3) Discuss who is going to work on which article- for example: “Luke is in the group that is doing all sports and he will research the race for the playoffs in baseball, Tommy is in the same group and he is going to research the Patriots and write about what their team is like now that Tom Brady is out for the season and Dan is in the sports group and he is researching and doing an article on high school football in the area”.
4) Do your research online. Organize your materiel and write your articles using Microsoft Word. Each student should write one article.
a. Once your article is written- proof it with someone else in the group.
b. Email your completed article to your editor so that all articles reside on the same h drive.
5) Put your newsletter together using Publisher. As a group go through and read all of the articles. Decide on the layout for your newsletter and put your newsletter together in Publisher.
6) Make sure your newsletter has a title.
Extras:
Keep everything in one folder. After each class print up what you have done and keep it in your groups folder and hand it in.
